On September 15, 2025, Dorothy Heffron, a duly elected member of the Chesterfield County School Board, said: “Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay shooting Nazis.”

This comment, made in the wake of a politically motivated murder that garnered national attention, was reckless, inflammatory, and fundamentally inconsistent with the duties of a School Board member.

The Chesterfield County School Board’s Code of Conduct requires members to act with integrity, support the well-being of all children, and follow ethical and lawful procedures. Ms. Heffron’s comment broke this Code by encouraging violence instead of setting a lawful and positive example.

The damage is clear: her comment undermines trust in our schools, sets the wrong standard for students, and disrespects the community she is supposed to serve. Her continued presence on the School Board will weaken the Board’s ability to function, and irreparably harm the reputation of Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Accordingly we, the undersigned, demand the immediate removal of Dorothy Heffron from the Chesterfield County School Board.
